Penn State

Proximity: The Reynolds Mansion is 10 miles from Penn State University. We are close enough to be convenient, yet far enough to enjoy a peaceful stay. You won't find lots of college students, bars, or traffic. You will find a charming, old Victorian town with quaint shops, outstanding architecture, and beautiful natural surroundings.

Unlike hotels or motels near Penn State University, the Reynolds Mansion Bed and Breakfast offers a variety of common areas to be enjoyed by its guests. You can have an afternoon glass of wine out on the front porch, read a book and have some Hershey Kisses in the Snuggery, play cards and shoot some pool in the billiards room, or you can even play a game of Frisbee on the great lawn. Of course, who could forget the three-course gourmet breakfasts in the dining room? Chef Mike, otherwise known as your host, prepares delicious delights every morning. After breakfast, take a short walk into historic downtown Bellefonte and feed the ducks at Talleyrand Park. Pick up a brochure at the Chamber of Commerce while you're there for a self-guided walking tour of the mansions and other important properties. Discover the beauty and significance of Bellefonte while being only minutes from State College.

The Reynolds Mansion is currently collaborating with Penn State students on several projects. The landscape contracting students will be participating in a project this spring through their planting design class. Their project will include tastefully landscaping the property while maintaining its historical integrity. Additionally, a Penn State student will be filming his senior project in and around the mansion from October through March. The main character of his script, a wealthy older gentleman, gets taken by two crooks who are selling doorknobs to gain access to mansions. We are proud to be able to participate in both of these worthwhile projects.
